Implantation is a process that occurs in every pregnancy. Every month, a woman's ovaries release an egg, which enters the fallopian tubes. While the egg is in the fallopian tube, it can get fertilized by sperm, after which it moves into the uterus and attaches itself to the uterine walls. This procedure, in which the egg gets "implanted" into the uterus, is known as implantation. There are several symptoms of implantation that can help a woman know she is pregnant, even before she misses her period. However, most women mistake implantation symptoms like back pain, bloating and cramps for the symptoms of the menstrual cycle.
