During the multiple babies’ pregnancy, 36 weeks is usually the week the babies are delivered. As you are carrying two babies, the term of the pregnancy differs from a pregnancy of one baby. The main difference is that the babies will not grow much more in these last few weeks as there just isn’t space in the womb, unlike a single baby which grows a lot in these last few weeks.

The babies now weight about 5 pounds each. If you still pregnant at 36 weeks, with twins, hang in there as you will probably deliver soon. Your babies are getting in position for delivery and placing themselves over the pelvis. Your physical symptoms are quite acute at this point. You are able to feel the dilation of your pelvis. Your organs feel crushed and there will not be too much place for movement of the babies. Your extremities like ankles, legs and hands will swell up. See also twin pregnancy week by week

Braxton Hicks or false labor contractions are almost certain now and can be quite acute now. As you have now become of a considerable size, you are peeing considerably more and are quite anxious. You will find it difficult to any rest in these last few days before the delivery. Other physical symptoms will include backache, constipation, breathlessness, increase in the heart rate, change in appetite and change in sexual desire, leaking nipples, fatigue and leg cramps among other things. You will also experience more heartburn than mothers who carry one baby to term. If your twins are born in this week they could need a little special prenatal care. Ultrasounds help predict the exact date for birth and since they are twins and can put a lot of pressure on the mother towards the end; the doctor might decide to get the babies out early.
