The baby in a 13 weeks pregnant belly is approximately the size of a peach and the belly itself is quite upright at this stage of the pregnancy. From the 13th week of pregnancy it is important to try and maintain a weekly weight gain of around 1 pound so that weight related pregnancy problems can be avoided. For an underweight woman the total pregnancy weight gain should be around 28-40 pounds while for a normal weight woman it should be 25-35 pounds. Overweight women should not gain more than 15-25 pounds and women who are obese should restrict weight gain to around 11-20 pounds...
